Year 10 is the start of your GCSE's - all the hard work starts now, we promise it'll be worth it!

All pupils study the following core subjects in year 10;

  • English
  • Maths
  • Science
  • Reading
  • ECDL
  • PSHE
  • Careers
  • PE
  • DofE

As well as two of the following options of their choice;

  • Art
  • Music
  • Travel and Tourism
  • PE

Autumn Term

During the autumn term pupils have visited;

  • Llangollen as part of Travel & Tourism
  • Anfield Stadium Tour as part of PE
  • Sefton Park as part of PE
  • Rivington Pike as part of mental health & wellbeing 
  • Formby Pinewoods as part of PE
  • Apple of my eye baking sausage rolls & pasties as part of SMSC & lifeskills
  • Rainford Christmas Tree Land to pick out the school christmas tree
  • Loud Speaker event as part of English

The Royal Court Theatre performed 'Eve's Story' in school and all pupils attended the production - The play highlighted issues around child exploitation, grooming, coercive behaviour and knife crime.


Spring Term

  • All of our pupils successfully completed one weeks work experience in March. We had some fantastic feedback on their performance and attitude, well done everyone!
  • We all went on a very muddy & slippy class rewards trip to The Beacon. We had lots of laughs and pupils behaved brilliantly.
  • Our class took part in an Apple of my eye session making three bean chilli, it smelt lovely coming from the cooking bay.
  • On 17th April pupils in the Y10 GCSE group took part in the bleed kit relay along with many other Sefton Schools raising awareness for kNOwknifecrime in memory of Colin McGuinty, and supporting their aim to get bleed kits into schools and areas that need them most.
  • On 18th April a select number of pupils took part in the Mini London Marathon, pupils were challenged to run 2.6km and did really well, staff too! 

 


Summer term...

  • Thursday 2nd May travel and tourism trip to Hilbre Island
    Tuesday 14th May class rewards trip to Worden Park 
  • Tuesday 21st May class reward trip to Darwen Tower
  • Wednesday 19th June Year 10 Taster Day at Hugh Baird College
  • Tuesday 25th June Y10 trip to Jodrell Bank for science enrichment 

There will be lots of other trips and activities planned throughout the term.
