Autumn Term

In class 4 we pride ourselves on being positive role models for the younger years in school, and always try our best in every lesson. 

Outside of class we have lots of competative games of football and basket ball at break and lunch.

We love playing games in class once we have completed our work and chess seems to be the game of choice at the moment. 

Our Learning:

English - This term we will be reading The Day The Cryons Quit by Oliver Jeffers and also Thornhill by Pam Smy.

These are very different books, but are amazing for inspiring character descriptions, setting descriptions, reports and creative narratives.

Maths - This term we are covering place value and then onto addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of numbers upto 1 million!!

PE - This term we will be starting with Football skills and then moving onto other invasion games, like Handball and Tag Rugby after half term.

History - Our focus this term will be Ancient Greece. The children will find out about the Greeks, Trojans and also the invincible Spartans.

Science - We will be looking at Space - the planets, our solar system and also taking a peek beyond!

Computing - We will be taking a look a databases and how we can use them in the real world, followed by some coding in Scratch and Code.Org.

PSHE - VIP's - this term we will be focusing on who are Very Important People are. 

Art - During art lessons this term, we will be looking at self-portraits. These are not just going to be pencil on paper - some of them will be much more!

Guided Reading - In class 4, we complete guided reading sessions 3/4 times a week. We focus on a wide range of text types and genres to improve our reading and comprehension skills.
