Welcome back to Newfield for a brand new year and are in half term one.

We are a group of Year 7 boys who are having fun finding creative ways to learn the curriculum!

During this half term we will be learning several topics:

 

English - "Characters and setting"

Identifying details about where stories are set and the character's that are a part of them. We will explore how a writers language choices help to create a sense of space. We will also be looking at how vocabulary choices have an impact on a piece of writing.

We have also been studying the novel "War Horse" by Michael Morpurgo. We have enjoyed the inverweaving of storylines, character arcs and themes as well as practicing our own writing skills and reading comprehension of the story.

Mathematics - Unit 1: Analysing and displaying data

This unit is testing our ability to analyse data in tables, graphs and charts as well as creating our own graphs and interpreting what the data shows.

 

Geography - Unit 3 Our Island Home

Our class have been busy observing the country we call home and the places that make up the United Kingdom.

 

History - Britain Before 1066.

We have looked into the life and times from before the Norman invasion of 1066. We have explored how life changed after invaders such as the Celts, Saxons, Romans and Vikings came to Britain and how life was affected by the arrival of these invaders and subsequent successors.

 

Computing - Online Safety

Art - 

PE - Invasion games such as; football, basketball, benchball handball and hockey. (KIT NEEDED WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY)
