Mr Lancashire's Class 2025 - 2026
Mr Lancashire
Mr Lancashire, Mr Saulter and Mr Prior
Welcome back to Newfield for 2026 into Summer Term 1.
We are a group of Year 7 boys who are having fun finding creative ways to learn the curriculum!
During this half term we will be learning several topics:
English - "Arguements and Essays"
In this class, students will show how to understand different arguements from different writers whilst exploring the vocabulary associated with discussions and arguements.
This will cover mostly no-fiction texts, analysing the structure and presentation of these kinds of texts. We will investigate how writers select specific vocabulary in order to create maximum impact to make their points.
Ultimately, we will then be using all we have learned to complete essays of our own on a chosen topic.
We have enjoyed reading Goldfish Boy by Lisa Thompson and have moved on to the first of two novellas "Street Child" by Berlie Doherty and "A different boy" by Paul Jennings.
