Mr Lancashire's Class 2025 - 2026
Mr Lancashire
Mr Lancashire, Mr Saulter and Mr Prior
Welcome back to Newfield for 2026 into Spring Term 1.
We are a group of Year 7 boys who are having fun finding creative ways to learn the curriculum!
During this half term we will be learning several topics:
English - "Explanations and Insights"
In this class, students will learn how to find and combine important information from different parts of a text to build overall understanding. They will practise using subheadings, paragraphs, and sentence structure to organise ideas and make writing clear, interesting, and relevant for the reader. Students should develop their skills by writing their own informative news reports and by learning, understanding, and using new vocabulary in a supportive and practical way.
We have also been studying the novel "A Monster Calls" by Patrick Ness. We have enjoyed the inverweaving of storylines, character arcs and themes as well as practicing our own writing skills and reading comprehension of the story.
