Alternative Curriculum

Alternative Provision Newfield School

At Newfield School we recognise that not all our students are able to access the main curriculum for a variety of reasons.  We have therefore developed a series of alternative curriculum placements, these are designed to support our students in the accessing of their education in a way that enables them to achieve success in their learning. 

Below is a list and brief description of some of the Alternative Curriculum Placements

CST Northwest - CST offer a safe learning environment for students aged 14 - 16years old, their moto is Believe, Achieve and Succeed, at CST they believe that every student has the ability to achieve and leave feeling confident in their ability to succeed.

Brooms Cross Fisheries - At Brooms Cross Fisheries our students get the chance to learn, build confidence and self-esteem without even realising it.  Here our students can also gain a qualification in angling which will enable the student to also pass on their skills to others.

Educ8 - Educ8 offers a number of qualifications in many areas, one of our year 10 students has chosen to do art here, as this is where his interest is.  

Shy Lowen - Shy Lowen offer a unique experience for our stuidents to work closely with the horses that the sanctuary save, they learn how to care and look after them giving them a sense of responsability 

The students that we have taking part in our Alternative Placments are spoken with regularly to make sure that they are achieving and happy.
