Welcome to Science
KS1 & KS2 Science:
Science lessons in lower school are delivered by class teachers, who follow the White Rose scheme of work. Pupils have a unique opportunity to have some of their lessons in the science lab in upper school.
KS3 & KS4 Science:
Science lessons in upper school are delivered by Miss Ainscough, a subject specialist in Science, you can find out about some of the topics we are studying this term in the relevant year group section below.
Year 7, 8 and 9 pupils cover topics from the Oxford Smart Activate scheme of work, supported by Kerboodle.
Year 10-11 pupils cover content for the BTEC Level 2 Award in Principles of Applied Science, a vocational course, more details can be found at

Year 7 are learning about reproduction and cells. We have made our own microscope slides and observed plant cells (onion) and animal cells (cheek).
Year 8 are looking at The Earth, including; The Rock Cycle, Carbon Cycle, Climate Change and Recycling.
Year 9 have learnt about the factors that affect the rates of chemical reactions, we will spend the next few weeks testing them ourselves in the lab.
Year 10 we have three year 10 classes who are at different points in their BTEC qualification; some completing Biology assignments, some looking at Our Solar System and others finishing their Chemistry work.
Year 11 have passed their examination - Well done!! We are finishing off our assignments ready for study leave to start.
