Form Teacher: Miss Grimes
Teaching Assistant: Mrs Wallace
Welcome to a new term and a new academic year, where our students will be both excited and a bit worried about taking the next steps in their learning journey in school life.
Between us we will help to settle the students into their new routine and new lessons and we will encourage them not only to work hard and aim to the best they can, but to also continue to make their families proud of them. .
This is a varied curriculum for students, where everyone has the chance to succeed and progress towards a career for their future life.

Autumn 1:
Miss Grimes’ Class are off to a good start…They have been revising what a Healthy Balanced diet looks like. We talked about the different fruits and vegetables we liked and didn’t like.
We talked about the nutritional values of different food. We are trying to add more variety to our current diets and Miss Grimes is going to bring in some Candy Floss Grapes; as fruit can be as delicious as sweets! We are going to see if we all like them…Next week we will try Kiwi fruit.
Challenge: A prize will be given for answering the following question:
Which fruit or Vegetables have the highest percentage of Vitamin C per 100g.

Home Learning:
Homework will be given throughout the year for all subjects. If families need additional help to support their child please contact class staff – we will be more than willing to help you. As an addition to any class homework given, please can your child do the following:
literacy (handwriting or comprehension) and numeracy (times tables) homework will be given to pupils every Friday and pupils will have until the following Friday to complete it. Pupils will also be given the option of completing it during 'free time' throughout the week, if they feel that it is a better option for them.
School Trips:
It’s not all work though – Students will have the opportunity to go on school trips throughout the year, to support and enhance their learning, but also as a reward for continuing good behaviour and good attitude. Students will also aim to fund raise throughout the year to support our school charities, which they enjoy very much.
Build on your good work from last year.
Believe in yourself and aim for success.
