Form Teacher: Miss Crawley / Mr Hartley
Teaching Assistants: Mrs Stanley & Mrs Yates
Having had a brilliant start to the academic year our boys are flying! Each one is settling in comfortably and progressing well in their transition to KS4. Having already received multiple compliments on the attitude and commitment of the class, as a form tutor I could not be prouder!
At Newfield we deliver a diverse curriculum, which promotes opportunities for pupils to succeed in the subjects they are interested in, whilst also working towards their GCSEs and Functional Skills qualifications.
Pupils have now begun their KS4 curriculum. Qualifications include-
• English Language
• English Literature
. English Functional Skills
• Digital Media
• Travel and Tourism
Further to this, we will also be studying the following subjects in KS4:
• PSHE & RSE
• Physical Education
The Duke of Edinburgh Award, will see year 10 classes undertake a range of on and offsite activities that will contribute towards gaining this highly-practical based qualification.
School Trips and Rewards:
Trips will be organised thought the year to support pupil’s learning and to celebrate positive behaviour. Pupils have the opportunity to gain points throughout the week for good behaviour, which contribute to earning reward time at the end of the week on Friday afternoons. Our class reward time has recently been spent socially; playing cards, additional sports, and watching movies as a class.
As a commitment to the pupils, homework will be set throughout the year to support pupils in their studies.
