Supporting Work Experience, in partnership with the Aiming High Team:
Newfield School has a long standing partnership with Sefton Council's Aiming High Short Breaks Team. They provide respite for disabled children at evenings and weekends during them time and during the day in all school holidays during them time. The Aiming High Team has the opportunity to use Newfield School premises during Summer to provide meaningful, enjoyable sessions for up to 20 young people per day. The sessions involve Art and Crafts, Music and Dance and Sports. The local Fire Brigade and Mounted Police Divisions also visit to liaise with the excited young people.
John Doran, Inclusion Practitioner at Aiming High says:
'The facilities and premises at Newfield School are ideal for our sessions, being secure and easily accessible. without the help of staff at new field School and other schools in the borough, we certainly wouldn't be able to offer our young people and their parents / carers such a safe and enjoyable Summer'.
