Form Teacher: Mr Bullock
with Teaching Assistant support from Mrs Ordish
We would like to take the opportunity to welcome you all back to the start of a new school year. Throughout the year the staff at Newfield will be working hard to support your child to make progress in all academic subjects, as well as focusing on further developing personal, social and emotional skills.
We are looking forward to working hard in our subjects and also developing our social skills through days out, class activities, working towards our school pledges and sport.
Pupils will be studying:
Students will have the opportunity to go on school trips throughout the year, to support and enhance their learning, but also as a reward for continuing good behaviour and good attitude.
There will also be fundraising activities throughout the year, both for our own school charity and for others outside of school.
So far this year our class have loved reading Cirque du Freak book in English and have done some fantastic work to accompany the book. In Maths we have been working on statistics and recording data. For Geography we went to Crosby Marina to explore the local environment. In ASDAN we had the opportunity to visit Formby Pinewoods to follow the country code and research animals that are native to Great Britain; there are some photos of our trip below.
Up and coming trips include going to the cinema and a visit to Merseyside Maritime Museum to see the Slave Trade exhibition to support History.
Pupils will receive regular, weekly homework. This will include:
Reading: Please encourage your child to read daily. Pupils will have regular access to a range of books from the school library.
Spellings: Pupils will bring home weekly spellings to learn.
Intervention Work: Pupils will bring home weekly intervention.
If you have any questions regarding your child’s education please don’t hesitate to contact school.
